The Cases That Keep You Up At Night
The Cases That Keep You Up at Night
Every experienced report writer has encountered a matter that has lingered long after the report was submitted—a case where the competing risks felt impossible to balance, where the evidence was unclear, or where the consequences of getting it wrong felt particularly significant. For this peer discussion, members are invited to come prepared to share a de-identified case that challenged them professionally, ethically or emotionally. The aim is not to critique outcomes, but to explore the complexity of decision-making in family law, learn from one another's perspectives, and reflect on how we navigate the cases that stay with us. These are often the matters from which we learn the most.
